How to choose the best sunglasses for your face shape

Fashions in sunglasses have changed enormously in the last couple of years and become much larger.  That’s good because more of the face is covered and the delicate under eye area is well protected from sun damage.

However, this change has left a lot of us wondering which style to choose for the most flattering look!

So instead of spending 30 minutes trying on sunglasses and struggling to see how they look in tiny shop mirrors, find out which sunglasses will suit your face shape here!

Heart-Shaped Faces

For a heart shaped face like Audrina Patridge, choose a style that draws attention downward.

You need glasses that add width to the lower part of your face, so bigger styles work well but avoid anything that sits high and wide.

Miley Cyrus’ wears round sunglasses that fit for her heart-shaped face. Shapes with round edges look great on heart shapes and soften the broad upper part of your face.

Round  face

In addition, try to keep the focus on the top of the face to create the illusion of length and balance out width.

Katy Perry gets it just right with this style because the side parts of the glasses connect at the top of the frame.

Square-shaped Faces

Olivia Palermo looks super in these ultra-trendy, ‘Cat’s Eyes’ frames that are perfect to help soften a square face.

Paris Hilton always gets it right and these ‘Fly Eyes’ sunglasses complement her face perfectly.  Square faces look best with round or oval frames and shouldn’t wear hard angled styles as this emphasises the squareness of the face.

Oval-shaped face

Oval-faced Jessica Chastain looks very contemporary in a pair of over-sized, red-framed sunglasses.

Paula Abdul’s angular, dark frames are perfect for her oval face shape. Oval faces have balanced proportions and most sunglasses frames suit this face shape.

Round-shaped faces

Fergie has chosen well with angular frames and a strong, straight line along the top of her frames.

This is a good way to make a round face look longer and thinner. Angles make the face look sharper and play down full round cheeks.
