Fire alert for Tegueste residents

Residents of Tegueste are being urged to help prevent summer fires by a little bit of advanced thinking.

The local council is circulating letters asking them to help clean ravines and pathways and to keep their gardens and grounds as clean as possible and free from debris.

The campaign will take place throughout July, August and September and is aimed at the entire population of Tegueste, regardless of age. An information booth is also to be opened, manned by volunteers.

Environment councillor, Sandra Ramallo said the aim was to get residents more involved and aware of how simple things could help to save a catastrophe.
