Since its launch four years ago, the Agromercardo has established itself as a re-ference point for consumers by offering a wide range of high quality products at affordable prices.

Agromercado  is controlled by the local council’s Department of the Environment and Sustainable Development under Esther Rivero Vargas.

It’s not just the individual shopper who has been won over. Because of the consistency of quality and price, many restaurants also use the market. The fruit and vegetables are sold direct by the farmer so they maintain their freshness without the use of chemical preservatives, stabilisers or anything else to prolong their life and properties of colour, flavour and texture.

The market also sells other products such as wine, honey, bread, cheese, dairy products, flowers, crafts and bakery items, in addition to an increasing demand for organic products.

You will find potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, peppers, fruits in general, cheese, fresh eggs, sweets, wine and more. There are more than 50 stall-holders so you will find goods and produce that fit in with the seasons so variety is always guaranteed.

The market also serves the purpose of giving a much-needed boost to the agricultural world of Tenerife and to help growers live off the land.
