Best Hotel in Playa de las Americas, home to new “Tenerife Family Church”

Tenerife Family Church is a New Church name to encompass three separate churches in the South of Tenerife all led by Pastor Bill Jeffries and his wife Roz. Bill’s contact number is 609 565 528.

Pastor Bill and Roz Jeffery have been leading the Costa Silencio English speaking church for twelve years.  The service starts there at 10am in the lower square at Coral Mar.   They have been working within the community for many years and are well loved and respected by people inside and outside of the church, who have been touched by their care and counselling from the cradle to the grave.  The church reaches out to people in Silencio and also in Playa de Las Americas in the Living room above Burger King in Las Veronicas. Pastor Bill also does a 6pm Sunday service there.

A new church is coming with its first service led by Pastor Bill on the 3rd February in the 4 star Best Hotel at Calle Dominguez Alfonso 6, Playa de las Americas, Telephone number  922 79 27 51. There is ground floor so that all people can access the room set aside for worship.  The service will commence at 11am. It will be a time of praise, worship and fellowship open to residents and holiday-makers alike.

When Pastor Bill was asked why Silencio church was so special, he said that he has seen so many lives drastically changed and turned around in the time he has been in the south of the island church.  He quoted from his comments book left for visitors to add  their reactions to the two churches:  ‘Inspiring, thought, provoking, wonderful.’   ‘You fanned the flame.’  ‘Awesome time.’  He has a splendid team of people supporting him in the work he and his wife do throughout all aspects of the community. People with all manner of problems seek refuge in the church and many addictive problems have been overcome with the support of the Pastor, and others inside and outside of the church congregation.

Roz Jeffery is involved in giving support and comfort to the women in the prison.  She is one of the team of Christians on the S.H.E. 24 hour Helpline which offers support to women in difficult situations, or who don’t know who to contact for help with the additional language challenge.  She liaises with the authorities and the police to get help quickly. For 15 years Roz has led a team from the church to visit patients in the Green Hospital every week.

The aim for the future is to provide additional support for people in Las Americas (residents and holiday-makers), in an age where church isirrele-vant to many. Tenerife Family Church is keen to change that view.  We live in an ever changing world, and we may not have all the answers but we know some one who does. Come and join us on Sunday mornings as we grow together towards God, who knows us and can help us put all the pieces of this sometimes bizarre world into perspective.
