Apple founder’s yacht in Santa Cruz
The latest yacht to win admiring glances at the port of Santa Cruz was “Venus”, the dream of the late Steve Jobs.
The Apple founder had revealed in his biography that he had always wanted to create a very special yacht and that has become a reality.
“Venus” pulled in to Santa Cruz last week for a five-day stop before going on to Palm Beach, Florida.
The boat was custom-built with much involvement from Steve Jobs and has a very distinctive and dramatic design. At 78 metres, it is not the longest yacht around but it cost over 100 million euros and comes complete with all the latest technology.
It features a mass of aluminium and glass with huge windows and sliding glass doors to flood light into the rooms and cabins.
The yacht was inaugurated last October by his widow and children.
