THANKS THIS WEEK GO TO:-

All involved in last weeks benefit at Rah Rahs Bar, Los Cristianos, where we raised €160. Owners Mark and Jane really put in a lot of effort, collecting prizes from the generous Apollo Centre businesses, and there was lots of entertainment with Suzy Q,  Avril Taylor, Phil Gibson, Tanya Tevaro, Nick Page, Ian Anderson, Robbie Dominic and Dee Daniels. *Imperative for rescuing and re-homing dogs, ie fuel for both vehicles and generators, car maintenance, insurances, phone, internet, cleaning materials, basic wages for two keys workers Eugenio and Regina.
As you can see we are in deficit by €7,373 and the people who bear the brunt of our shortfalls are our vets , Hospivet Sur, Playa Paraiso and Valle San Lorenzo. Their ongoing support enables us to continue to rescue and rehome the dogs and our gratitude to them is immense. With the move to our new refuge our costs have spiralled however it is all worth it to be able to give the dogs a good environment whilst in our care. There will be no payment from the council in the next half year and possibly into  next year so we have devised some new ways to raise more income which is so badly needed. Firstly we are scheduled to open two new shops in the near future, locations will be announced soon,  and secondly:-
The L A Members Card
We are introducing a Live Arico members scheme which will benefit not only the dogs but you too. For just 10€ a month from your bank account by direct debit you will receive a members card, a sponsor dog and benefit from discounts and special offers from a wide variety of participating businesses.
The list is growing fast, so for your 10 euros  you will be able to save a lot of money. If you are a business interested in joining,  or you simply wish to be a member please contact Debbie or Sue on the numbers below.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Wednesday the 28th July sees us at the Theatre Bar, San Eugenio for a benefit night with Suzy Q, Phil Gibson, Dee Daniels, Tanya Tevaro, Nick Page, Ian Anderson and Avril Taylor to name but a few. Lots of raffle prizes at this one, so be early to ensure a seat.
There will be a cause event at Coral Mar Square, Costa del Silencio on  Sunday the 1st August, from 2pm to around 7pm. Exact details to follow next week.
Wednesday 4th August we will be having a fundraiser at the Merry Monk, Apollo Centre, Los Cristianos, with Suzy Q and guests to be confirmed.
On Sunday the 8th August we are proud to be hosting, at the refuge, an AUCTION FUN DAY!!
We already have some great items for auction including a pool table, furniture and jewellery which will be available to view from 3pm and there will also be a bbq and drinks for sale. Oasis FM´s Chris Donoghue will be compering an afternoon of live entertainment, and for the kids we have a face painter, splash pool and bouncy castle. Boxer Nicky Cook will be signing autographs and all in all, we expect to have a great afternoon with all proceeds going to the dogs on the refuge, which you can say hello to on the day of course. We do need more items for the auction – all good quality used items, furniture etc etc welcome, and can be collected. On Friday the 20th August there will be  a benefit on the Top Square, Golf Del Sur from 8pm. With raffle, tombola and lots to do for the kiddies, join Suzy Q and guests for a great night.
REVISED ADOPTION PROCEDURES.
Live Arico´s policy is to ask now for a minimum donation of €50 for an adopted male dog, and €75 for a female,  which is paid direct to Hospivet Sur on collection of your new pet, who will as a result be chipped, neutered, vaccinated and wormed.
APARTMENT FOR SALE which includes a sizable donation to Live Arico. LIVE ARICO NEEDS BUILDING MATERIALS AND VOLUNTEERS!!!
Much work has been done at the new refuge, yet more remains. We desperately need some metal poles, at least 2.5 metres in length by at least 40 cm in diameter. Also needed is 250 breeze blocks. CAN YOU HELP!!!!
We also need pairs of hands!!

THE PURCHASE OF LAND FOR A SOUTH TENERIFE RESCUE CENTRE
We have sold 504 square metres of land up to now, making a total of €2520.00, and our 2010 calendar sales made  €2999. €1000 of this has been used to buy construction materials at the new refuge.  The total in the land account is therefore €4519, we´re getting there!!
The plan to buy our own plot of land remains, possibly even the land we are now renting.
Could you, BUY A SQUARE METRE OF LAND FOR Live Arico? At just €5 per square metre, you will receive a certificate from Live Arico for now, and your name and number of square metres purchased will be on a “Roll of Honour” in the welcome centre at the new refuge.

Live Arico Shop News (in Association with Tenerife Nursing and Care)
WE HAVE MOVED to the frontline of Coral Mar, on ground level, right next door to the Coral Bar. We believe this will make life far easier as cars unloading can park right outside, and also our elderly and disabled customers will no longer have to negotiate the stairs.

We are also grateful to accept items of furniture as we are now working in conjunction with Fish for Furniture, Los Abrigos and Idea, Adeje. Call Rick to arrange pick up.

Due to popular demand the shop now has new opening times..Mon - Fri 10 - 4pm, Sat 10-2.
