A campaign is underway to strengthen links between Miami and Tenerife with direct flights which resumed this month - June.
The route was introduced in 2009 by Air Europa and experienced a high take up. José Manuel Bermúdez said that Tenerife would be promoting the tourism, fiscal and business attractions of the island.
The flights (approximately seven hours duration) started on Saturday 19 June and will operate through to 31 October. It is also hoped that that daily paper from Puerto Rico which neighbours the USA - would also attract visitors who use Miami as a hub for holiday destinations to Europe.
Miami's main streets will be displaying large banners with images of different aspects of Tenerife as well as publicity on Tenerife's many attractions aat some of Miami's top events during the year.
One of the major attractions in Tenerife is Siam Park in Costa Adeje - Europe's largest waterpark.
