The Canary Islands' Government is to pull out all the stops to make sure tourism continues to soar during 2012.
Last year closed with a record number of 12 million tourists visiting the archipelago, bucking the trend of mainland Spain and many other places in Europe. The Canary Islands now feature as one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

Iberia Airport Services (IBAS) and airberlin have signed an agreement under which Iberia’s handling division will provide ramp and passenger services for airberlin at the airports of Gran Canaria and and Tenerife South in the Canary Islands for three years starting in mid-June.

Tenerife Tourism has consolidated Tenerife's presence in Belgium and Holland with their 2011 strategy to attract more tourists from both countries, which brought in a total of 270,000 passengers last year, 6% of the 4,800,000 who came to Tenerife in 2010.
