After a very successful and eventful year at Estrellas Theatre School the students from the north and south wowed their audience with their end of term performance of “Grease, the Musical”.Children from as young as three to seventeen years donned the “grease” paint to perform this well-loved family show in two of the most prestigious theatres on the island.
The performance in the south was held at the prestigious Magma Art and Congress Center in Playa de las Américas on 12th June and in the north the Tenerife Palace in Puerto de la Cruz played on June 9th.
It was a wonderful evening of live entertainment from our future stars of tomorrow!
Estrellas has gone from strength to strength in the last two years achieving a staggering 75% distinction pass rate in their latest LAMDA examinations.LAMDA themselves have met with Maureen Sands, Principal of Estrellas, to congratulate her on the superb examination results in acting and musical theatre.
There’s no time to relax after Grease as Estrellas have another very important date to prepare for. On Friday 22nd July four
Estrellas Musical Theatre students and two dance troupes, “Revolution” and “Children” will compete in the final of the 2011 Islasvision Talent Competition. This competition has held heats on all seven of the Canary Islands and Estrellas are very proud that so many students have made it through to the Grand Final.The summer holidays are shortly upon us and Estrellas have an exciting programme prepared.This year’s summer workshop will be a music journey focusing on four of the most exciting singer/songwriters of all time.This year we will be based at the Hotel Albatross on Golf del Sur and any child between the ages of 6 and 17 is welcome to join us.The course is offered on a one or two week option and will be held during the weeks of 4th-8th July and 11th-15th July between 10 am and 4 pm each day.The cost for one week is €130 and for both weeks is €250.Daily lunch and a drink are included in the price and places are limited.
When the autumn term commences students will be focusing on their forthcoming LAMDA examinations as well asperformances across the island and a sensational Christmas production.
