On January 2nd some of the bowls fraternity helped Angus Low celebrate his 90th birthday at a dinner party. Although Angus no longer plays bowls he was a formidable opponent on the green and won many of our championships.

Originally from Dundee in Scotland, Angus settled in Puerto de la Cruz when he retired in 1987. Our happy event was lubricated with a bottle of 25 year old MacAllan whisky kindly supplied by Ron Musgrave.

    True to his Scottish roots, Angus managed to get his hands on the bottle, and had his usual two fingered measure.

    A very pleasant evening was had by all.
