Carnival Programme: West comes south in Los Cristianos PDF Print E-mail

Los Cristianos will celebrate its 2012 Carnaval de Arona from March 1st to March 12th.

The dates have been confirmed by the ayuntamiento, together with details of the progamme, although they say it could still be subject to modifications.
This year’s theme is “El Oeste” or “The West” which should let imaginations run riot for colourful and ingenious costumes.
Progamme of events
Thursday, March 1st. Inauguration of the photographic exhibition “Nuestro Carnaval” ie. “Our Carnival”.
 
Friday, March 2nd. 8.30pm. Presentation of the Carnival Queen candidates. Auditorio Los Cristianos.
 
Saturday, March 3rd. 7pm.  Carnival opening parade.
 
Wednesday, March 7th. Carnival dance of the Third Age. Recinto Ferial (in front of Edificio Valdés Centre, Los Cristianos). 6.30pm.
Thursday, March 8th. Election of the young Carnival Queen 2012. Recinto Ferial (as above). 8.30pm.
 
Friday, March 9th. Election of the adult Carnival Queen. Recinto Ferial (as above). 9.30pm.
 
Saturday, March 10th. Parade, sideshows, Gala Drag Queen, Carnival Dance. No time as yet given.
 
Sunday, March 11th. Gran Carnival Coso. Exhibition of antique vehicles, in front of Valdés Centre from 10.30am. Coso from 5pm from Paloma Beach apartments, along Avenida Juan Carlos 1 to the Recinto Ferial. Concluding with grand Carnival ball, with orchestra Wamampy, in front of Valdés Centre.
 
Monday, March 12th. Burial of the Sardine. 8pm.
