Four illegal immigrants were found “wandering around Lanzarote and disorientated” after an empty boat was detected.
The patera was abandoned and unoccupied adrift off the coast of Playa Blanca and near the Pechiguera lighthouse. Although it was still afloat, it was flooded and had no engine.
Police contacted Maritime Rescue and a couple of hours later, the four immigrants, including two minors, were discovered walking in the area around the lighthouse and were obviously dazed. All four were taken to the Civil Guard barracks.
