Margaret Holt (65) was on holiday in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote when she went missing while out walking. She was due to have flown home on December 29 but did not show up at the airport.
When she failed to make contact with her family over Christmas they raised the alarm on December 26, which resulted in a full scale search by the Guardia Civíl and local emergency services.

Margaret Holt, a 65-year-old British tourist from Merseside who disappeared in Lanzarote on December 23 while hiking, was last seen near the Volcán de La Corona.
 
She was reported missing by her family who raised the alarm on December 26 when they became concerned that they had not heard from her for a few days.
 
Now, nearly a full week later, the search and rescue has been widened to include two helicopters, lifeboats, search and rescue teams, police and firemen.
