This morning at 9.45 José Miguel Ruana, councillor to the Presidency of the Canary Island Government confirmed that the fire in Mazo and Fuencaliente is officially under control.

The level 2 fire is now at level OB and under local control of La Palma Cabildo.
Ruana praised everyone who worked so hard to put the fires out, expressing his gratitude to The Ministry of Defence and Environment and the various Government bodies from all of the Canary Islands for their unstinting help.
