Police investigating the death of a 67-year-old German tourist on Gran Canaria on December 23rd have arrested two people.
Both are Spanish men, one being 27 and the other 18. They were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the brutal murder of the pensioner in what is believed to have been a robbery at his apartment in Playa del Inglés. It is understood he received fatal injuries when trying to protect himself from their efforts to steal money and personal property. The younger man may have been known to the 18-year-old. Cash, a laptop and two mobile phones were taken.
Both men were arrested following information gained during police enquiries and a search of other parts of the island.
