65 immigrants, including possibly up to 43 children, were intercepted by a boat from the Maritime Rescue Services yesterday minutes after they had been alerted by the island's Integrated Surveillance System (SIVE) who had spotted the boat about a quarter of a kilometre off the La Restinga area coastline. All of the immigrants were taken to a temporary shelter in the capital, Valverde while waiting for confirmation of the actual number of arrivals. Everyone appeared to be in good health.
