Be amazed at Amarilla Golf PDF Print E-mail

Mention the location of Amarilla Golf and most people would automatically think of a lush green golf course with stunning views of both the ocean and Mount Teide.

But Amarilla Golf is also a place to head for to enjoy a day or evening out, for a meal, a drink and entertainment and it is also home to a range of businesses which you might like to call on.
Why not take time out and have a drive out to Amarilla Golf or even catch the bus. Park your car and have a stroll and you will be surprised at what you discover. It's just nice to look at the villas, apartments and houses which have been developed around the golf course and to admire the wonderful scenery and the marina.
One place you should call in to is The Terrace Bar because, as owner Andy so rightly says, it really is like Dr Who's Tardis! The entrance is relatively small but as you walk through the doors, both the interior and exterior opens up in front of you.
Andy says everyone is amazed and often remark that they wish they had found The Terrace Bar before, such as at the start of their holiday.
There is no karaoke but there are live acts on three to four days of the week and Sunday is very popular as from 3pm, there is always a live band and a barbecue.  You can either sit inside where there are numerous comfy leather sofas and chairs or outside on the massive terrace which has a bouncy castle for the kids and a play area.  The bar shows live sports, there are bar snacks at very reasonable prices such as pizzas and burgers and, during the school holidays, kids eat free which represents an enormous saving.  The bar is open Monday to Friday from 5pm to close and from 1pm to 1am on a Saturday and Sunday.
Andy also runs the adjacent La Terraza Restaurant if you fancy a bit of fine dining in a lovely atmosphere with tasteful decor.
The Palms Bar Bistro should also be on your list as this is another of Amarilla Golf's hidden gems. Although it is on a holiday complex and you have to press the buzzer to get in, it is open to all and yet again provides a big surprise.
This bar and restaurant is run by Caroline, with the help of husband Steve, and their daughter Kate and their sunny personalities really do charm everyone.
The interior has been designed in cool greens and white and comes alive at night when the plants are lit up. It's also one of those places that once discovered, you will return time and time again.
Their Belgian chef is much praised and Steve told us the story of one couple who said they had travelled the world and this was by far the very best time-share complex restaurant they had ever been to. We took the opportunity to sample the food and you can read our review on our south restaurant page.
It's worth noting that there is a happy hour from 4pm to 5pm when local beer is an euro a pint and a glass of Sangria is just a euro too.
The Palms Bar Bistro is closed on a Monday but otherwise opens at 4pm, with food served from 6pm to 10pm. Saturday night offers a buffet with unlimited return, a flamenco show and a singer with dancing but it is so popular, you do need to book in advance.

Alan, who runs the unusually named business Red Tomato (he will explain why) is located at the Pebble Bridge, Amarilla Golf.  Alan has been on the island for 20 years and has built up a great reputation. He can provide and install TV systems for private homes, businesses, bars, communities etc, installs satellite dishes and realigns them and repairs plasma screens, X-boxes, wii systems, satellite boxes, mobile phones etc.
Not for nothing is Alan known as The Sky Man and there is little if anything which can beat him.
We were very interested to hear about his wifi deal which is brilliant because you can tap in to the Red Tomato wifi for as little as one euro for one hour. If your computer picks up the Red Tomato signal, you can sign up there and then for an hour, 12 hours on block (just three euros), 24 hours (five euros), seven days (15 euros), two weeks (25 euros) or 30 days for 30 euros. These hotspots are in and around Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf so there is no need to be without your valued internet connection.
If after walking around Amarilla Golf your feet hurt, then give them a treat and ring qualified pedicurist Barbara who will come out to you or you can come to her.
At the moment, she is offering a full pedicure and lovely foot and leg massage, lasting for 45 minutes, for the fantastic price of 17.50 euros.
Barbara says many holiday-makers suddenly realise their feet need attention and feel very refreshed and relaxed after a pedicure. You can usually get an appointment the same day and Barbara provides everything, including the varnish, top coat etc and even down to the bowl in which to soak your poor feet. Her motto is "I will turn your feet into happy feet" and at that price, your purse will be happy too. And don't forget, you men folk might want a pedicure too.
If you are enchanted by Amarilla Golf, you might be considering buying a property here, either to live in or to rent out.

A really fabulous place to visit for a meal or to stay is the Casa Club on Amarilla Golf which is right on the golf course and affords the most fabulous of views and dramatic sunsets.
It must be everyone's dream to sit by a pool and enjoy a snack, lunch or cocktail and this can come true here.
The club house forms the centre-piece of this Ritz Resorts Tenerife which lives up to its name in terms of decor, service, accommodation and facilities. It makes a perfect stop for that unforgettable family holiday, golf break or honeymoon destination. There is a beautiful function room which looks absolutely fabulous when decorated for weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries etc and Christmas parties which you might want to start thinking about soon.
Most of the self catering accommodation overlooks the golf course, with views to the ocean and Mount Teide. Amenities include a bar, restaurant, splash pool, large adult pool, sunbathing with beds, tennis, pool etc all set in lush vegetation which makes you feel like you have arrived in paradise. Their excellent website gives you full details and stunning pictures which will definitely inspire a personal visit.
