Perhaps a bit of rock climbing, hiking, star gazing, abseiling, zip lining or walking with your family?
Every year, the sports department of the Tenerife Cabildo offers a full nature and adventure programme which takes place from February through to December.
The 16th edition has recently started and offers wide appeal to all ages, all abilities and all tastes. In fact, over the duration of this year's programme, there will be more than 1,000 events to choose from.
Details were recently released by the Cabildo and the Association of Sports and Activities in Nature (Adena Aventura) in a press conference attended by sports councillor Damaso Arteaga and Adena co-ordinator Francisco Hernández.
The nature and adventure scheme has been operating since 1995 in order to promote not just sporting activities but nature and the environment and its conservation. This year's programme widens its appeal with events the elderly and the disabled can also enjoy.
Each activity has a ratings guide. Level 1 is for beginners and is suitable for people with any fitness level and those with reduced mobility. Level 2 requires an average physical condition while Level 3 requires high fitness. There is also a special level for the super fit.
Events coming up for the rest of March include a walk in the mountains of Tacoronte on March 19th, zip lining in Arico on March 20th, abseling in the Candelaria area on March 26th and a walk in the Barranco del Altos, Arico on March 27th.
Those interested in participating in the Nature and Adventure programme can register with the sports department on 922 239 820 or 922 239 511.
