Jim Hunter was recently contacted by the Director of Hogar Chindia in Valle de San Lorenzo.
Hogar Chindia is managed by the Council of Arona. Hogar I is a home for about seven children of ages varying from 10 to 16 years. These children have been taken away from their parents, whom the Social Services consider incapable of looking after their own children.
The Council of Arona has been affected by the financial crisis as have many government departments. This meant that the fixtures and fittings at Hogar Chindia were desperately in need of replacement.
T.E.I.D.E has been collecting funds from Rex Mallett kindly carrying out Osteoporosis Screening Sessions both in the South of Tenerife but also in England.
So when Jim was asked for help in obtaining new cupboards, desks, chairs, computer, and television he had sufficient funds to purchase everything.
The accompanying photos show some of the children enjoying the recently supplied computers.
It is only through the generosity of the people who have had the Osteoporosis Screenings, that T.E.I.D.E is able help in such projects, where the local community of Tenerife is in need.
T.E.I.D.E continues to carry out Osteoporosis Screenng Sessions where only €20 is charged for a test that in the UK can cost as much as €300 . If anyone is interested in having a test please contact Jim Hunter on either 669444617 or 922720920.
