Legendary 1960s American rock band Iron Butterfly will play in Gran Canaria on February 24th as one of only two Spanish concerts in their 2012 European tour.
The gig, officially confirmed on their website, follows on from their appearance in Barcelona on February 17th.
The band will perform in the Teatro Felo Monzón de Tafira Baja in Las Palmas and tickets are on sale through www.entradas.com
Iron Butterfly was formed in San Diego in 1966 and toured with the likes of The Who, The Doors and Cream. Their debut album stayed in the charts for almost a year but perhaps their best-known success was the monumental LP In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida featuring the 17-minute long track which shook the entire music industry. The single stayed in the charts for 140 weeks.
The original line-up later changed and the group eventually folded in 1971 but has been reformed by founder drummer Ron Bushy.
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is almost certain to feature in the Gran Canaria concert, together with other classics from Ball, Live and Metamorphosis. You can read more about the band on www.ironbutterfly.com
