Details of the event have just been released and names of the headline artists are expected to be revealed shortly.
Organisers promise the festival will set the capital alight on May 24th, 25th and 26th and could bring in as many as 35,000 people with a huge spending power for the island.
The spectacular is all part of the bid by Santa Cruz to increase its profile and the Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez promises it will be an event of such a scale never seen before in the Canary Islands. It is being organised by LM Producciones which has been behind other major concerts. The entertainments company is also intent on helping to revitalise Santa Cruz and help give a massive boost to commerce, economy and tourism in the city.
Although an unprecedented project for the island, it is already being likened to the famous Rock in Rio or BBK Live.
