Burglars posed as workmen on stake-outs

Members of a burglary gang pretended to be telephone technicians, from the gas board or even wine cellars to stake out their targets, say police.

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of carrying out at least 16 burglaries in various parts of Tenerife. They are aged between 20 and 54 and from La Orovata, Santa Cruz and Icod de los Vinos.
