Abama strikes up a first PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 09 February 2010 15:53

The luxurious Abama Golf and Spa Resort at Guía de Isora is to notch up a major first.

The resort has recently hosted a charity Pro Am golf tournament, led by Sergio García, to raise funds into the study of sarcoma cancer. The event was in memory of María García-Estrada-Acevedo who died in 2005 aged just 24.
Now, some of Spain's most important golfers are also heading for Abama as the resort celebrates its first ever International Abama Pro Am.
The golf tournament takes place on February 12th and 13th and is another indication of Tenerife's diversity into the world of big sporting events.
Players due to take part include Jesús María Arruti, Pedro Linhar, Luis Claverie, Francisco Cea, Ivó Giner and Fernando Roca amongst others.
The event will also include a number of other activities, including a gala dinner.
It is a fitting time for the tournament to take place as it coincides with the fifth anniversary of the creation of Abama golf, one of the most stunning golf courses in the Canary Islands.
