Roundabout to have sensor lighting

La Palma is to use a pioneering scheme in Spain to light a major roundabout and contribute to the green environment.

The system is being installed at the new Cruce del Molino on the LP3 at Breña Alta. It allows variations in the LED lighting, depending on the amount of traffic at the time, and uses less power.

Spanish network for house burglaries

Police have arrested more than 50 people responsible for house burglaries across Spain in a crime spate lasting several years.

They include an estate agent and the owner of a car rental company on the mainland whom officers said worked almost exclusively for the network. The 52 suspects are mainly of Croatian origin.
