Puerto honours its most faithful visitors
For one more year, the Centre for Initiatives and Tourism of Puerto de la Cruz (CIT) has presented gold, silver and bronze medals (35, 25 and 15 years) to the regular tourists to Puerto de la Cruz who choose the venue every year as their holiday destination.
The event took place in the Plenary Hall in the presence of the Mayor, Lope Afonso; the councillor for tourism, Dimple Melwani, the vice president of the CIT, Ulrike Schmidt; and Irene Talg, associate of the CIT who made the presentation in several languages. The event was also attended by other directors of the CIT and the directors of the hotels that have presented their award-winning regulars in their establishments.
Sr. Afonso paid tribute to the most faithful tourists of the municipality, who year after year choose Puerto de la Cruz to enjoy their vacations. He praised the hospitality and good treatment that they receive both from the hotel sector and from Puerto people who have managed to retain visitors for more than 35 years, in some cases.
Vice president of the Centre for Initiatives and Tourism, Ulrike Schmidt, thanked everyone for their support of Puerto de la Cruz “choosing us year after year as their second home, a reason for pride and satisfaction.”
The participating hotels in this edition were Hotel Vallemar, Monopol, Puerto de la Cruz, Riu Garoe, El Tope, Casablanca Apartments, Marte and Tigaiga. A total of 27 medals were handed out to the regular customers of these hotel establishments. 14 of bronze, to those who have achieved more than 15 stays in Puerto de la Cruz, six silver with more than 25 and seven gold with more than 35.
