Cabildo backs plans for Puerto projects

Tenerife Cabildo will carry out two projects to improve the urban area of Puerto de la Cruz worth more than one million euros, as approved by the Insular Government Council at its last meeting.
These actions, which are part of the Insular Development Strategic Framework (MEDI) -FDCAN, will be carried out on Blanco Street and around Valois, Plaza del Charco and Santo Domingo streets.
The Governing Council agreed to take out the tender for the renovation of Calle Blanco for the sum of 596,189 euros. The works, which will have a term of execution of five months, include the remodelling of the stretch of the street between Valois / Cupido and Plaza del Charco.
This project, whose financing is assumed by the Cabildo and Puerto council through the Strategy Agreement together with the Autonomous Govern-ment through the Canary Islands Plan, forms part of a proposal of greater scope that includes the streets Dr. Ingram, Nieves Ravelo and Blanco.
In addition, the Council approved the project to analyse and define the necessary actions that will improve the drainage of rainwater through-out the historic centre of the tourist city, which also includes the execution of a new co-llection point for the flow at the pier.
The planned investment for the realisation of these works, which will be undertaken mainly in Valois Street, Plaza del Charco and Santo Domingo, amounts to 497,159 euros financed entirely by the Cabildo.
