Sports venue improvements before World Cup
Tenerife Cabildo has invested 339,000 euros in the improvements of the Santiago Martín Sports Pavilion in La Laguna.
The installation is usually used by Iberostar Tenerife and will host the Women’s Basketball World Cup in September.
The planned works are related to lighting, the parquet flooring and improvements in security.
Sports Minister, Cristo Pérez and Ideco’s CEO, Eusebio Díaz, recently visited the facility to check the work being carried out. This includes the installation of a technical lighting system for the sports track with latest projectors, ArenaVision Leds generation, which includes a Spectacular-Show programmable lighting.
The flooring is also being improved.
Likewise, the UCO organisational control booth will be installed to coordinate the security of events, with a strategic situation and general vision of the venue.
The Santiago Martín Sports Pavilion is usually used by the IberostarTenerife participating in the ACB Liga Endesa and will be venue of the XVIII Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 to be held in Tenerife from September 22nd to 30th, 2018.
