Heart-friendly La Laguna acquieres more defibrillators
La Laguna has acquired 31 new defibrillators that will go to the sport in the municipality.
Three of these devices will be used for outdoor sports events, the local council has announced. The aim is to offer greater safety for people who practise sports both in these sporting facilities and in outdoor sports events.
The defibrillators are state-of-the-art, Samaritan pad 350P from HeartSine. Of semi-automatic character, they have an intelligent system which gains more than a minute in defibri-llation. In addition, it has a patented biphasic scope wave, which optimises the download according to the needs of each person. These defibrillators are the most resistant of the market and the lightest, with only 1.1 kilos of weight.
These devices have been placed in the sports facilities of Milan (Tejina), Punta del Hidalgo, Mayber, Princess Yballa, La Candelaria district, La Hornera, Las Carboneras, El Batán, El Pico (Tejina), Bajamar, Libertad I and II , El Rocío, Finca Espna, José Anchieta, Ayatimas, Los Andenes, San Diego, San Felipe, San Luis Gonzaga, Valle Colino, Villa Hilaria, Los Verdeños, Ofra, Pérez Soto, La Verdellada, Camino La Villa and Las Canteras.
These defibrillators are added to the 12 that the sports department acquired at the beginning of this year; the devices were selected after advice provided by a hospital centre of the island that consisted of the analysis of the different equipment offered by the different providers.
Mayor José Alberto Díaz and sports councillor Agustín Hernández received the provider who explained the characteristics of this type of defibrillator.
Sr.Díaz said this acquisi-tion is part of the project of cardioprotected municipal sports facilities launched by its Government.
