Magnificent six for Los Realejos sports’ venues
The Basilio Labrador complex and the Iván Ramallo stadium in Los Realejos are hosting six Canary Islands’ championships between March and June.
The elite of table tennis, handball, basketball, athletics, indoor soccer and climbing will be competing for various titles.
The Mayor of Los Realejos, Manuel Domínguez said they were delighted with the success of the athletes and proud to be hosting the competitions.
He said it was another sign that “sport is unquestionably linked to tourism, because this will cause teams or individual sportsmen from other islands to come to this region of Tenerife and also boost the local economy.”
The Canary Islands’ Table Tennis Championships were held between March 16th and 18th to set the sequence of six rolling.
The same venue will host the Canary Islands Handball Championship from April 13th to 15th and, from April 19th to 22nd, the Men’s Basketball Championship of the Canary Islands.
From May 24th to 27th, the Canary Islands’ Women’s Soccer Championship will take place in the pavilion while on June 23rd, in the same sports complex but on its climbing wall, the Canary Islands’ Climbing Championship comes to an end.
The Iván Ramallo Stadium will be the headquarters of the Canary Islands’ Athletics Championships on May 26th and 27th.
