United States awaits for budding baseball player Jorge
Jorge Luis Franco, 16 from Granadilla, will soon be part of the International Baseball League. After being part of the Spanish National Team last summer, when he was summoned by the Spain U-15 national team to play the Austrian European, he will go to the United States for three months to the Champions International Baseball Academy (CIBA). In October, Jorge Luis was also invited to the MLB (Major League Baseball).
Among other achievements, he was champion of Spain U16 in 2016 and since 2013 he started in the Panteras de Granadilla team. In 2014 he played the Big Show League and in 2015 he began the technification at Marlins de Tenerife.
Deputy sports councillor, Marcos González, highlighted the successful year of this young man of the municipality who began to practise this sport aged just eight and who started in the baseball team of the municipality, reaping successes year after year.
Delegated councillor of sports, Sara Cano, expressed congratulations on behalf of the municipal corporation to this athlete, wishing him the best in the United States, and congratulating him for being an example of sportsmanship and effort for all young people of his age who practise some kind of sport.
