The British brothers and international triathletes Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, along with their compatriots Mark Buckingham and Gor-don Benson, the Australian Aaron Royle and the Slovak Richard Varga, chose Tenerife and Los Realejos specifically, to prepare for their 2018 season.

Alistair Brownlee won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and in London 2012; as well as the triathlon world championships in Australia 2009 and Beijing 2011; in European Championships he achieved a second place in the Netherlands in 2009, a first place in Ireland 2010, a first place in Spain 2011 and a first place in Austria 2014.

The Slovak Triathlete Richard Varga is the winner of the Aquathlon World Championships of 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015 and is considered the fastest swimmer among the triathletes. He also represented Slovakia in the Olympic Games of London 2012 and Brazil 2016.

The Australian Aaron Royle was first in the Oceania Championship (Australia) in 2014 and second in the editions of this same championship in 2016 and 2013, in addition to first in the Oceania Cup – Sprint stage (New Zealand) 2012, among other achievements. He also represented Australia in the Olympic Games of London 2012 and Brazil 2016.

The British Mark Buckingham has achieved the Duathlon Championship of England in 2011, 2012 and 2013, a third place in the Duathlon World Championships of Australia 2015 and Canada 2017, as well as a third place in the Mixed Relay Triathlon World Championships. disputed in Germany 2015, among other achievements in his track record.

Gordon Benson accumulates a bronze in the World Triathlon Championships in Mixed Relays of Germany 2015, a first place in the European Games of Azerbaijan 2015 and a first place in the European Cup held in Spain in 2015. He was also an Olympic triathlete in the Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016.
