El Médano hosts short film festival
El Médano hosts the “Canarias en corto” programme on January 26th and 27th which includes the screening of seven short films by Canarian directors, talk-de-bate and music.
The initiative, launched by Granadilla council’s culture department led by Eudita Mendoza, is part of the promotional programme of the cinema of the islands promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands, through Canarias Cultura en Red.
The works that are part of ‘Canarias en corto’ are: ‘El mar immobile’ by Macu Machín; ‘The broken doll’ by Daniel León Lacave; ‘Smoking break’ by Iván López; ’29 de febrero ‘, by Ángel Valiente; ‘The colours of snow’, by Cris Noda; ‘Osito’ by Coré Ruiz, and ‘El gigante y la sirena’, by Roberto Chinet.
These seven short films will have the support of a specialised distributor for its diffusion in national and international markets and audiovisual fairs in January and throughout the year 2018.
The opening of the film session will be on January 26th at 6.30 pm, with the presentation of the shorts and the participation of several of the directors, as well as a discussion on the sector. At 7.30 pm, the screening of the seven short films will take place. On January 27th, at 6.30pm, the Canary Island film ‘JULIE’ will be presented, directed by Alba González, winner of the 2016 Malaga Film Festival, and to conclude there will be a concert by the Nicotine Swing group.
Eudita Mendoza invites the population to come during these two days to El Médano to enjoy the seventh art and to know the work that is being done in this area in the Canary Islands by the professionals of our islands.
