Surfing high at just 14 years of age
A young surfing champ from La Laguna is riding high after a triumph at the Open LPA Surf City.
Melania Suárez, just 14 years of age, was awarded first place in the Absolute Women category.
The surfer of Punta del Hidalgo, who has the support of the Autonomous Sports Organisation (OAD) of the City of La Laguna, was awarded the triumph in the most important test of the Canarian circuit.
She competed against the 20 best surfers in the Canary Islands.
Melania was also backed by Rip Curl, Health & Sport Canary Islands, SeventyOme Percent, Ocean Earth, MattaShape, Club la Bajeta, DaleCreativos and the Spanish and Canary Surfing Federations.
