Sports grants ONLY for fair play clubs

More than a score of clubs and athletes from El Rosario will benefit from the Sports Grants Plan of 2018.

The Department of Sports is allocating 47,650 euros in grants to sports clubs and federated athletes.

The amount represents a slight increase compared to the 2017. This line of subsidy is foreseen in the 2018 budget project that seeks to promote different sports disciplines in El Rosario, with special attention to vernacular sports such as Canarian wrestling or bowls and petanque, but without neglecting other disciplines such as badminton, biking or basketball.

The subsidies will help meet general expenses for the maintenance of the entity, those of the organisation and realisation of sports activities and those derived from the transports of the sports teams. They are also intended for the organisation and operation of sports schools, sports training in any of its aspects and the federation expenses of competitions, chips, mutuality or arbitration.

However, the council is stressing that any club involved in any element of unsporting behaviour will not be grant-aided in the interests of fair play.

Economic aid will also be granted to the three new clubs that emerged in El Rosario during 2017: CL Berros Esperanza (Canarian fighting ), Ball Club Las Rosas Femenino (bowls) and Club Batistana El Rosario (rhythmic gymnastics).
