Singer releases new album to support Down Tenerife

Los Realejos has teamed up with a local singer to promote his new album dedicated to raising money for children with Down’s Syndrome.

Singer Santy Pérez has been praised for his tremendous solidarity effort and it is hoped there will be great support from members of the public.

Proceeds from the sale of the CD ‘Inclúyeme’, which includes a video clip of “Somos el mundo’” featuring boys and girls battling the condition, will go directly to the association Down Tenerife.

The Mayor of Los Realejos, Manuel Dominguez, councillor for disability and citizen participation, Sandra Perez, and the representative of the Tenerife Association of Trisómicos 21 Down Tenerife Jorge León, presented the album with Santy, also known as Mr Pérez.

Los Realejos council has collaborated with the venture and the Mayor said: “It is appreciated that a local artist has had this social initiative and solidarity of such depth, also having special collaborations of other singers when interpreting the star theme ‘We are the world’, included in this work, and that in its video clip also has as protagonists children with Down syndrome and locations of Los Realejos.”

Sandra Perez described the initiative as “beautiful” and said it would help the work of a very special group.

“Talking about these children is talking about angels, little ones without malice that far from feeling out of place are the first to offer affection and many life lessons for the rest of family, friends and the environment that surrounds them, ” she said.

Jorge León said the CD can be purchased at the price of 10 euros from now through the headquarters of the Association of Trisómicos 21 Down Tenerife in La Laguna, although future sales points will also be announced.”

He took advantage of the presentation to show “on behalf of all the parents and the children themselves our public and priceless thanks to the initiative of Santy Perez and those necessary collaborators of this social project, as the City Council.”
