Seven arrested for sharing child porn through video chat

Agents of the National Police have arrested seven people who shared child pornography through video chat in Valladolid, Salamanca, Cádiz, Badajoz, Granada, Melilla and Madrid.

The investigation began when the agents received information, through the international cooperation channels and by the internet platform itself, of the existence of a group of people who would be exchanging child porno-graphy through video chat.

“The three most active users of this operation were arrested in Badajoz, Salamanca and Madrid,” said a police spokesman. “They had a very extensive network of contacts of other paedophilia con-sumers who are also being investigated. They were all found with a lot of child pornography perfectly classi-fied and sorted into folders of their personal computers. One of them had started downloading child porno-graphy in P2P networks and had evolved to different websites of countries belong-ing to the former Soviet Union to obtain new illicit files.!

A man in Valladolid was also arrested, specialising in the downloading and distribution of child pornography of girls between five and ten years of age. He said he had been sent the files by mistake.

In the course of the investigation the agents found out that there was also an 18-year-old boy in Granada who was just beginning to enter the world of paedophilia and sent files of this content to other people.

The last detainee in the framework of the investigation is a minor resident in the autonomous city of Melilla. The indications found have shown that this young man could in turn be subject to sexual harassment by other more experienced paedophiles, so they continue the efforts to find out their identity.
