Icod de los Vinos attracting new businesses
The government group in Icod de los Vinos has sealed its commitment to the economic dynamism of the municipality, confirming the first positive results of supporting small businesses.
The Open Commercial Zone has a wide range of activities on weekends that form the perfect trade-culture binomial to buy in the municipality and encourage potential customers with innovative offers such as the ‘Escaparates en vivo’, which achieved a remarkable success in sales and in public affluence two weeks ago in the town.
“The latest data make people believe in hope,” said a council spokesman.
Thus, in recent months, six new establishments have opened in Icod de los Vinos, two tourism-oriented busi-nesses, two textile warehouses and accessories, a framing company, and a toy store.
“It is about local investors and those from outside the region who see the Ciudad del Drago with enough strength to recover the commercial spirit of yesteryear, when the town was a commercial reference point on the Island. In addition, there are projected new businesses of different commercial categories that will open their doors throughout 2018,” says the council.
Councillor for trade and local development, Jannet Pérez, understands that “this positive trend should serve as an incentive to continue strengthening the commercial sector in the municipality and encourage everyone to buy here, given that quality and proximity are the mark of identity of our businesses; the predisposition of the entrepreneurs is fundamental, given that without their effort we could not achieve good results, although this is only the beginning and there is still a lot of work to be done.”
