Four more arrests for DAESH links
The Spanish National Police and the Directorate-General for National Security of the Kingdom of Morocco have arrested four people, three of them in Spain, for belonging to the terrorist organisation DAESH.
The operation was carried out with the collaboration of the Provincial Intelligence Brigades of Guipúzcoa and Barcelona, Europol and the Directorate-General for National Security of the Kingdom of Spain (DGST), once more neutralising a dangerous threat.
Raids were carried out simultaneously in Tangier (Morocco), Figureres (Girona) and Parla (Madrid), where a number of homes were searched.
“Those arrested were key targets in the fight against terrorism,” said a spokesman for the Spanish government. “They were publishing radical jihadi materials on the internet and directly inciting the commission of attacks in Spain. They all used their profiles in the social media to work for the propaganda apparatus of the terrorist organisation in Spain.”
The operation remains ongoing.
