Arrested for selling “protected” wood 

Police have arrested a man for selling Canarian cedar wood via the internet.

He was located by the environmental section (GRUMA) after offering for sale a lot of 100 planks.

The wood is classified as ‘vulnerable’ in the Spanish Catalogue of Endangered Species.

Police have issued a reminder that the possession and trade of this wood is a serious violation, which entails penalties ranging from 3,001 to 200,000 euros.
