More than 100 activities make up the programme of activities being staged by Puerto de la Cruz for the Christmas and Three Kings campaign.

The festive celebrations began when the lights were turned on and will continue with a wide range of fun and activities for all.

The Mayor, Lope Afonso says the extent of the programme reflects “the great moment the city is living”, thanks to the “good perspec-tives of tourist occupation, economic growth and, there-fore, job creation.” He there-fore hoped Christmas and the NewYear would be more prosperous for all.

A press conference to unveil the details was also attended by the councillor responsible for fiestas, Ruymán García, the president of the San Francisco de Asis Nativity Scene Cultural Association, Martín Álvarez Calzadilla, and Sandy Reina, president of the Ya Vienen Los Reyes Association (“Here come the Kings association”).

The festive poster was also unveiled, the work of the painter Luis Dávila, donated, for the second year in a row, by the San Francisco de Asís Association of Belenistas. Their stunning nativity scenes are on show in the Casa Ventoso, former Colegio de Los Agustinos, its seventh exhi-bition of cribs, one of the “most important and widest of the Canary Islands”. The seven nativity scenes cover an area of 600 square metres.

Ruymán García thanked “each and every one of those who make it possible to carry out the events within this programming” and invited everyone to enjoy the festivi-ties.

The programme is available in two formats: digital and physical. The first is hosted on the council’s website on www.puertodelacruz.com and on the Facebook page” Fiestas Puerto de la Cruz “, the second in shops and other locations.

One of the most anticipated events was presented by the president of the Ya Vienen Los Reyes Association, Sandy Reina, responsible for carrying out the Three Kings Parade on January 5th. The Magi of the East will be wearing new costumes, thanks to the company Diseños who have given the new outfits for the Three Kings free of charge.

During the festivities, different musical groups will liven up the streets of Puerto de la Cruz.
