Los Realejos promises not one Christmas day without a smile
Los Realejos is celebrating Christmas with its biggest offer of cultural, commercial and leisure activities with 75 events.
“The Magic Night”, “The Magic Afternoon-Children’s End of Year”, Christmas workshops and playrooms, 25 visits of ambassadors and living nativity scenes are all highlights of the programme.
The festive lights are already on and at the presen-tation of the programme, the poster was presented by the illustrator from Tenerife, Nareme Melián, as well as the new mascots of the Depart-ment of Commerce of Los Realejos, Tyto and Alba.
The Mayor, Manuel Domín-guez said the programme was aimed at all ages but in particular children with five Christmas toy libraries and the 25 visits by the story-telling ambassadors of the Three Kings. He extended a welcome to all, from both inside and outside the municipality, to come and share in the festivities, promising not one day without a smile.
The Living Bethlehem of Tigaiga will remain on the day of December 25th, as has been usual in recent years, starting at 7pm, while that of Icod el Alto in this parish will be at 7.30om on the same day. The Children’s End of Year planned for December 30th will this time be in the Plaza de San Agustín from 5pm, integrated into the set of activities for revitalisation of the entire commercial area under the title ‘The Magic Afternoon ‘.
The ambassador of the Magi will visit up to 25 points of the town between December 26th and January 2nd, stopping, as usual in Realejo Bajo, Tigaiga, Camino Nuevo, Tanque Arriba, Icod el Alto, La Carrera, El Jardín, La Higuerita, Toscal Longuera, San Vicente, El Horno, Las Toscas, Cruz del Peral, El Mocán, La Cruz Santa, Las Llanadas, La Ferruja, Palo Blanco, Placeres, Realejo Alto, La Cartaya, La Montaña, La Zamora, San Benito and San Agustín.
The Cabalgata de Reyes on January 5th, the eve of the delivery of their gifts to the youngest of Los Realejos, will depart at 6pm from La Cruz Santa to conclude in Tigaiga, while passing through Realejo Alto and San Agustín. The departure of the Icod el Alto parade is also at 6pm.
Free parking areas and piped music in the shopping centre will all add to the atmosphere.
