Celebrating the Centennial anniversary of the International Lions Clubs
This year is the Centennial anniversary of the International Lions Clubs and each club throughout the world was asked to hold a special celebration to honour this great occasion.
Our Club Tenerife Isla Sur decided to hold a “Street Party” for many of the children of different ages and abilities that we have supported in recent years.
Our party was held in front of the Cultural Centre in Los Cristianos and it was a fabu-lous success. More than 100 children and carers enjoyed the dancing, singing, eating and entertainment.
As President of the club I would like to express my thanks and admiration to Prakash and the team for all the hard work that went into the organisation which made the event such a success.
The smooth running of the day was due to the very reliable supporters who included some students from Wingate School along with members of the Indian Community all of whom played a valuable part in the happy event.
I want to thank the Mayor of Arona and members of his council for the permission and co-operation that enabled us to hold this ambitious event.
Not only did all the guests enjoy the party, so did the helpers, the DJ, the photo-grapher, the balloon artist. Many members of the public asked our members more about the amazing thing our club does and what it stands for.
It was a tremendous way of celebrating 100 years of service to our community.
Thank you once again to everybody concerned. NS
