Spain takes in more refugees from Turkey

Spain has taken in 194 refugees from Turkey under the National Resettlement Programme.

They are all of Syrian nationality except four Palestinians.

This group of refugees, one of the largest to date, comprised of 49 men, 41 women and 104 children.

The refugees will be resettled in Albacete (7), Badajoz (7), Barcelona (16), Castellon (7), A Coruña (6), Leon (9), Madrid (37), Malaga (20), Ourense (7), Salamanca (2), Segovia (4), Seville (6), Soria (12), Teruel (11), Toledo (25), Valencia (5), Biscay (5) and Zaragoza (8).

Spain has now taken in a total of 2,190 applicants for international protection, 1,286 under the relocation programme and 904 under the resettlement programme, of which 398 have arrived from Turkey and 506 from Lebanon.
