A talented singer has brought a whole new dimension to traditional afternoon teas.

Because customers visiting Fiona Kelly’s Tea House in Los Gigantes are treated to a close up and personal matinee performance from her wide musical repertoire.

Over bone china teacups filled with exotic teas and delicate cake stands laden with homemade scones and cakes, they relax and enjoy a variety of foot-tapping music and classical arias .

Fiona, a soprano, began singing as a child in talent competitions and musical festivals in Scotland where her voice brought her public recognition.

Among highlights of her solo career she has performed for the Royal family at Balmoral and supporting Katherine Jenkins at an Emmerdale fundraiser.

And in Homecoming Scotland, Fiona introduced songs from her debut album followed by her premiere appearance at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival for a highly acclaimed eight-night run.

Six years ago, Fiona broaden her horizons to the Canary Islands where she is currently performing her classical cabaret show to delighted audiences top hotels.

Now she has branched out and opened her Tea House adding enthusiastically: “Its going really well.

“I’m making it a focal point for the village where people can share gentle afternoon, homely chats and feel part of the community.

“I combine her background of classical training and love of opera with a crossover into musical theatre and popular music.

“I’m really humbled it’s been so well received by customers.”
