Santiago del Teide gives more money for marine walk facelift
Santiago del Teide is to allocate close to one million euros for the rehabilitation works on the Avenida de la Playa de La Arena between Punta Negra and La Gaviota.
In May, it was agreed to contribute more than 78% of the total of the work, that is to say, just over 700,000 euros.
It will now give another 250,000 euros to carry out these works that fall within the Programme of Strategy and Regeneration of the Tourism Space included in the Strategic Framework for Insular Development (MEDI) -FDCAN. For its part, the Cabildo of Tenerife will contribute another 196,939 euros to the work with which it will exceed one million euros.
The project includes a total renovation of pavement, lights, section of tracks, creation of green areas and sorting of parking areas. In addition, the project contemplates the improvement and redefinition of a large stretch of the maritime avenue and its intersection with Alfonso Ferrer Street, where a roundabout will be arranged to facilitate traffic, and will also affect the connections of the main road with the streets Punta Negra and Ana María.
“These works will improve the characteristics of the urban spaces and the environment, will help to reduce the speed at which the cars circulate along the main road and complete a tour circuit that will be very attractive and comfortable for both visitors and residents,” said a council spokesman.
