Guía de Isora wins extension of bus services
TITSA line 417 is to offer a better service, it has been announced.
After several meetings and negotiations with the public transport company, Guía de Isora council has achieved an extension of the schedule of the line that benefits workers and reidents in the south of the island.
“With effect from Saturday, September 16th, line 417, linking Los Cristianos with Guia de Isora, will have a schedule that better reflects the needs of its users,” said a council spokesman.
“Until now the service ended at 7pm on weekdays, which was a problem especially for those who had their work centre in the area, mostly in the hotel sector. After the modification, the service expands to 10pm which will facilitate mobility in the area.”
Transport councillor Carmen Alicia González said this was a real necessity and one which residents had been pressing for over a number of years.
“We hope this improvement of the service will also lead to a more sustainable mobility for the municipality,” she added.
The service offered by line 417 has a daily frequency of every two hours. The first bus in the direction of Guia de Isora departs from Los Cristianos at 6.55am. Conversely, the first bus departs at 5.45am. Under normal traffic conditions, the journey takes about 35 minutes.
