Gang which landed drugs on Spanish beaches busted by police
Agents of the National Police, together with officials of the Tax Agency, have seized a ton of hashish from a drugs gang which operated in Huelva.
The group organised the transport of the bales by sea through the use of speedboats that they later unloaded on Spanish beaches.
In the operation, three people have been detained and four vehicles used to take away the drugs seized.
The investigation began in June when agents became aware of a criminal organi-sation made up of Spanish citizens living in different towns of the province of Huelva and apparently engaged in hashish transport by means of high-speed craft.
The first investigations resulted in the location of a warehouse on an industrial estate, located in the town of Lepe (Huelva), which was used by the network to carry out the logistics of drug transports. Inside, the group kept a rigid boat equipped with two outboard engines of 300 horseower each, four SUVs and several gas bottles.
At the end of July, police found that the vessel had been moved to a dock in the town of Isla Cristina, where it launched to head to Morocco.
With the collaboration of the Tax Agency, the researchers found that the boat, already loaded with the 35 bales of hashish, went to the beach of Hoyo de Isla Cristina (Huelva). There the members of the organisation unloaded the drug, introduced it into two off-road vehicles and took it to another isolated area where they hid it on the side of the road, covered with canvas.
