Two women hid traps with screws and nails in road
Two women aged 59 and 70 have been arrested for a crime against traffic safety by placing home-made contraptions with screws and nails on a road in Guisgue in Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) with the intention of causing accidents.
According to the Canary police, several residents of the town reported that they had suffered damage to their vehicles repeatedly as they travelled along a road that gave access to their homes.
Police discovered that the two women got up at dawn to bury their home-made devices in the dirt track.
“This happened on several occasions with the intention of provoking as many accidents as possible or at least damage to vehicles,” said a spokesman.
The reason for their actions are not yet known.
