Three men arrested for Teide car break-ins
Police have arrested three men for breaking into cars parked around the Teide National Park.
The trio are aged between 49 and 53 and come from Los Realejos and Santa Cruz. Tourists visiting Teide alerted the police after the three men were seen acting suspiciously and at one stage trying to force the lock of a parked vehicle.
They were able to give detailed descriptions of the suspects who were arrested. One car owner said 110 euros had been stolen from the car and another had 600 euros taken.
Police found 1,175 euros on the three men, the cash being hidden in their pockets.
It is believed they could have been responsible for more thefts which were carried out on the same day.
