Tenerife hosts Bodypainting Festival 


The second Tenerife Bodypainting Festival is taking place on September 3rd and admission is free.

The art of body bodypainting is booming in the Canary Islands and especially in Tenerife, where this second edition of the Tenerife Bodypainting Festival is attracting artists from all over Europe.

This contest allows visitors a really close-up view of the art and it is truly fascinating to see the creations taking shape.

Admission is free and it presents the opportunity for a really different day out in the surrounds of the Camino Largo and Parque de la Constitución of San Cristobal de La Laguna. Refreshments will be available with good food and drink.

There will be free workshops for children and the bodypainting show by artist Miguel Ángel of Reto Creativo (Colombia) who on previous days to the competition will be giving workshops for professionals to show them the techniques of 3D make-up, masks and accessories with foam and latex..

At night everyone is invited to the Grand Gala, with the presentation on the stage of the works of bodypainting of the contestants and the awards.

Many more surprises are promised by this festival which iis organised by the artist Maike Karrer de Maquillaje Tenerife in collaboration with San Cristóbal de La Laguna council.

11am – 4pm | Demo Bodypainting Miguel Ángel de Reto Creativo

11:00 – 19:00 | Free painting, Glitter Tattoos and Temporary Tattoos Workshops

18:00 – 19:30 | Photocall with the contest models

20:00 – 00:00 | Grand Gala with the presentation of bodypaintings, awards ceremony. Shows with Rio Orinoco, Malabares La Ninfa and the Dragón and Antonio Martínez (Bodypainting in Movement)
